  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from John Schneider -- You Never Learned This In A Classroom! : Much of history is suppressed or disregarded all together. Especially the uncomfortable parts or those who pit to question our common beliefs in our past. Only by learning of what really happened can we avoid its happening again. • 1.0 out of 5 stars from A. Lewis II -- Unfortunately for Mr. Wilson, a real Historian called him out! : In 1907, W.E.B Dubois wrote to Mr. Wilson stating that there is very little supporting historical evidence to his claims, and that if there were any evidence, it would most likely be found in certain areas of Alabama and Louisiana....and even that evidence would be extremely scant. • 3.0 out of 5 stars from BudMiles@aol.com -- A quick and incomplete study. : The teaser for this short book mentions thousands of blacks being owned by other blacks. In reality the author does not come close to documenting those numbers. He does, however, go through his methodology in researching the topic. ( Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2020 )

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars from Roberta Kirkland -- A book of its time.... : Not much to say. Points personally researched prior to learning of this book helped me put this book in perspective. I mistakenly thought this book would give nuggets on a rarely spoken about aspect of this era. The most commonly highlighted sections shows who this essay resonates with, however. • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Robert O. -- Worthy of Consideration : Proving slavery far wider in scope than black people being owned by white people. Unless he repents, man's heart is evil, and he will do evil to his fellow man as he has opportunity no matter his skin color. See slavery for what it is and stop using its history to take advantage and for political gain. ( Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2021 )
